Service Description
Hearth Family Start is a one time introductory session in your child's home, with a parent or guardian present, offered before a family's first paid childcare booking. The Hearth Family Start is an opportunity for us to meet, get to know your child and begin building familiarity and trust before any paid childcare begins. WHAT WE'LL DO: 🌿 Get to know your child We'll talk about their personality, interests, routines, communication style and anything that helps them feel comfortable and settled. 💛 Explore my care approach You'll have the opportunity to see how I interact with your child, how I support communication and regulation, and ask any questions about my approach to care. 🏡 Get familiar with your home routine We'll go through the practical details of your home, including routines, expectations, safety arrangements and anything I need to know before providing care independently. 🛟 Review important information We'll make sure we're clear on emergency arrangements, allergies, household safety and any other important considerations. THE GOAL: For you to feel informed and confident about the care I'm providing, and for your child to have the opportunity to become familiar with me in a relaxed, supported environment. BEFORE YOUR FAMILY START: Please complete our Getting to Know Your Child form. This allows me to review your child's information and prepare appropriately before we meet. PLEASE NOTE: Family Start sessions are complementary and are subject to booking approval. Completing the Getting to Know Your Child form does not guarantee that a Family Start booking request will be accepted. Hearth Family Start is not required for future bookings.
Cancellation Policy
Before your Hearth Family Start, please complete our Getting to Know Your Child Form. This helps me understand your child before we meet — including their routines, interests, communication, allergies, additional needs and anything that helps them feel comfortable and settled. The information you provide allows me to prepare for your complimentary Family Start and helps us build a foundation of safety, trust and personalised care from the beginning. Confidentiality: Information relating to your child is treated confidentially and handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Family Start: Your complimentary one-hour Family Start takes place in your child's home with a parent or guardian present. It gives us the opportunity to get to know each other, talk through routines and expectations, and help your child become familiar with me before any paid childcare begins. Completing the form does not guarantee that your Family Start booking request will be accepted. All requests are reviewed by Hearth Childcare before the session is confirmed. Family Start cancellations and rescheduling: Please provide at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel or change your Family Start. We understand that unexpected circumstances can happen, so please contact Hearth Childcare as soon as possible if you need to make a change.
