Please read the key information below before booking childcare with Hearth Childcare.
This page summarises the main arrangements. The full Terms & Conditions contain the complete terms that apply to Hearth Childcare bookings.
Services Provided
Hearth Childcare provides personalised childcare for children from 6 months onwards, delivered in the child's own home.
Current services include:
-
Hearth Day Childcare: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, during school holidays.
-
Hearth Evening & Weekend Childcare: Monday–Thursday, 5pm–10pm, and Friday & Saturday, 5pm–11pm.
-
Hearth Family Start: A complimentary one-hour introductory session with a parent or responsible adult present.
Family Start is a one-time introductory session before a family's first paid childcare booking.
Getting to Know Your Child
Before childcare begins, parents/guardians complete a Getting to Know Your Child form.
This provides important information about your child's routines, preferences, allergies, health, additional needs and emergency contacts.
Parents/guardians must provide accurate and up-to-date information and let Hearth know about any changes.
The form is generally valid for 6 months.
Fees & Payment
Current prices are shown on the Hearth Childcare website and booking system before booking.
Shorter sessions have a minimum booking duration of 2 hours.
Daytime shorter sessions are charged at £18 per hour, and evening/weekend shorter sessions are charged at £20 per hour.
Payment is made securely through the online booking system and a booking is confirmed once payment has been received.
All rates are fully inclusive, with no additional travel, resource or mileage charges.
Bookings & Cancellations
Bookings are made through the online booking system and should normally be made at least 24 hours in advance, although shorter-notice bookings may be accepted where availability allows.
Cancellation arrangements are:
-
More than 48 hours before: full refund
-
24–48 hours before: up to 50% may be retained
-
Less than 24 hours/no-show: a cancellation charge may apply depending on the circumstances
If Hearth needs to cancel a booking because of illness, emergency or circumstances preventing safe childcare, you will receive a full refund or, where appropriate, the option of an alternative date.
Health, Illness & Medication
Parents/guardians must provide accurate information about any health conditions, allergies, dietary requirements or other matters affecting their child's care.
Hearth does not routinely administer medication, including medicines such as Calpol or ibuprofen.
If your child becomes unwell during a session, the parent/guardian may be asked to return home.
A 48-hour exclusion period applies following the last episode of vomiting or diarrhoea.
If a child becomes unwell during a session, the parent/guardian may be asked to return home.
Accidents & Emergencies
The child's safety is always the priority.
If an accident, injury or medical emergency occurs, Hearth will take appropriate action, including first aid or contacting emergency services where necessary.
Parents/guardians will be contacted as soon as reasonably possible. In an emergency, medical assistance may need to be sought before a parent/guardian can be contacted.
Home Safety & Collection
Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that the home is reasonably safe and suitable for childcare and should disclose any known hazards or safety concerns.
Only a parent/guardian or authorised person may take responsibility for the child at the end of a session.
A 10-minute grace period is provided for occasional late returns. After this, additional care time is charged at £20 per hour, calculated in 15-minute increments.
Photographs & Communication
Photographs or videos will not be used publicly without appropriate permission from the parent/guardian.
Where parents have agreed to receive photographs as part of their child's daily update, these may be shared using the agreed communication method.
Parents/guardians should keep their contact details up to date, particularly for emergencies.
Safeguarding & Privacy
The safety and wellbeing of children is a priority for Hearth Childcare.
Hearth will act appropriately where there are concerns about a child's safety or wellbeing and may share information with appropriate professionals or authorities where necessary.
Personal information, including relevant health information, is handled in accordance with applicable UK data protection law and the Hearth Childcare Privacy Policy.
